Nicole had been experiencing skin difficulties with both of her young daughters spawning her to intensively research the possible causes of their skin ailments as well as possible remedies. One day, she came across an article that featured toxic chemicals and preservatives that are commonly used in skin care products and their effects on the skin and environment. She quickly checked the ingredients on all of the products that her family was using and was shocked by what was lurking in most of the products. That was her “a-ha” moment as she finally figured out the potential cause of her children's skin ailments.

She immediately discarded the products and set out on a mission to find healthier and safer products for her family. Nicole visited some of the local stores in her area and came across several shelves of products that claimed to be organic or all natural. However, after looking at the list of ingredients on many of the containers, she noticed that they were neither all natural nor organic and many of them contained chemicals and preservatives that she read about in the article like parabens and synthetic fragrances. While looking for some potential skin care alternatives on the internet, Nicole came across a book about making natural vegetable soap from scratch using the cold process method. After making soap for her family and seeing positive results in her family's skin, Nicole was hooked and branched out into making moisturizing creams and spa salts. These became favorites among friends and family. With the love and support of her husband, Jelani, they decided to turn Nicole's hobby into a business.
